The End
So it is the end of the semester and I am sort of sad about it because I love posting on my blog, so I think that I will continue posting. I loved going to my class this year, I have learned so much about the family and how they work. I hope that I am going to be able to take the information and use it in my life for me and my future family. I am so excited to see how I can use what I learned in my family now and discuss things with wonderful mother. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a Wonderful day! :D

Divorce and Remarriage
Hey guys, So this last week we talked about divorce, and remarriage. The most important thing to remember is the children. Parents should not use their children to fight their battles, or turn the child against the other parent. When a parent is getting remarried, they should talk to their kids about it in advanced, and make sure they are happy about it too. When you keep your child informed about these things, they will be more willing to go with the flow. Thanks For reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day. :D

Parenting
In class today we talked about parenting and how we can be better parents. One thing we talked about was natural consequences (NC), and that their are only a few instances where a parent should not let the natural consequences be the punishment. They are 1) when the NC are too dangerous, such as death or severe injury; 2) When the NC will happen too far into the future, such as not brushing you teeth; and 3) when the NC affects other people, such as shoplifting. In all other instances, parents should let the NC play out. Many parents feel like when they punish their child, that is the NC, but it is not in most cases. As a parent we need to remember that children will learn better from NC, than from the punishment that they give their children, which just deprives them of your love for them. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day. :D

Communication
Hey guys this week we talked about communication in the Family. We talked about how your tone of voice can make a difference in how your conversation goes. While we were talking about this in class, I remembered a funny video that had to do with communication. It is called "Everything is Okay Now". It just reminds me that we need to keep in mind that what we say, and how we say it are really important. Thanks for reading and I hope you guys have a wonderful day. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocy_kp8HT_k

Family Crisis
Hey guys. This week in class we talked about family and crisis that can happen to them. One that I think is big is a child that falls away form your faith. The thing to do is to just love them and include them. You should not cut them off, because that might push them even farther away. When you have family activities just invite them so that they feel that they can still come to you and they will be loved by you no matter what. Thanks for reading and I hope you guys have a wonderful day.

Fidelity in Marriage:
Hey guys so today we talked about Fidelity in marriage. Many people think of this as having an affair with someone; but their are many ways to have infidelity in marriage. One that is really common is having really good friends of the opposite gender. When you are spending more time with an opposite gender friend than you spouse, that is a form of infidelity. Even talking with them on Facebook can be a problem, if you are sharing thoughts and feelings that should only be shared between a husband and wife. Thanks for reading and I hope you guys have a wonderful day. :D

Dating vs. Courtship
Hey guys. So today in class, and all throughout the week, we have been talking about how dating has changed over the past few years. My professor said that when he was in college, people went on dates with many different people, sometimes in the same week. In our society the term dating means hanging out exclusively with one person, many time not even going on a date. It is important to date many people. A girl in class today gave a really cute example. She said," Dating is like eating ice cream. You might like vanilla, but if you never try other favors you might never really find your favorite kind." I love this analogy because we really won't know what we want out of our relationships if we don't get to know what is out there for us. So before you get serious with someone, try to date a variety of people before you decide what you want. Thanks for reading and I hope you guys have a wonderful day. : D
